IN Q3, NON-RESIDENTS’ ENTRY IN GEORGIA INCREASED IN NUMBER 2.8 TIMES Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that in the 3rd quarter, 2.3 million non-resident international travelers entered the territory of Georgia. If compared with the same period of 2021, the number has increased 2.8 times.
“TBC CAPITAL” IMPROVED ITS FORECAST FOR LARI EXCHANGE RATE
We are improving our forecast of lari/dollar exchange rate by the end of this year from about 2.8 GEL/USD to 2.7 GEL/USD, says weekly review published by TBC Capital today.
At that, next year, presumably, taking into account the relative weakening of Russian ruble and low inflation in Georgia, the base scenario seems to be a weakening of lari to a small extent, TBC Capital points.

Georgia’s Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili confirms that Estonian model of profit tax will not apply to financial sector of Georgia in 2023.
The Minister declared about this after the Georgian government meeting today and noted that “it was easy to see this” from the submitted draft state budget for 2023.

Georgia’s Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili declared that if an investor fails to complete a large hydroelectric power plant project, the state is considering the possibility of participating in this project.
The Minister declared this after the Georgian government meeting today, stressing that “there cannot be talks about participation in a large volume”.
WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF ENPARD IV, $3.4M IS ALLOCATED FOR FOOD SAFETY IN GEORGIA
Within the framework of the 4th phase of European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD IV), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) will render financial support of $3.4 million to Georgia.
The funds are intended to ensure food safety, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, reported Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
