    GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT: WE FACE DIFFERENT CHALLENGES IN TERMS OF FISCAL RISKS, POSED BY PPP PROJECTS IN ENERGY SECTOR

    Unlike previous years, we face completely different challenges in terms of fiscal risks, arising from public-private cooperation (PPP) projects, in particular, in the energy sector, says fiscal risks analysis, enclosed by the Georgian government to the draft state budget-2023.

    The fiscal risks arising from this sector may be said are gradually decreasing, but it is important to focus more on the long-term economic efficiency of the support scheme, the document indicates.


    GEORGIAN STATE-OWNED ENTERPRISES FINISHED 2021 WITH PROFIT

    The Georgian government reported that in 2021, net profit of state-owned enterprises (excluding LLC Marabda-Kartsakhi Railway) totaled to 413 million lari (against of loss of 660 million lari in 2020). If taking LLC Marabda-Kartsakhi Railway into account, the profit totals to 537 million lari.


    CONSTRUCTION OF BATUMI BYPASS ROAD HAS BEEN RESUMED

    Georgian Road Department declared today that “existing challenges have been solved” in construction of the Batumi bypass road and work has been resumed.

    The Department said that construction of 3 tunnels and 14 bridges has been already completed, and drilling works are underway on the remaining 2 tunnels, as well as construction of bridges continues.


    IN Q3, GEORGIA’S PRODUCTION OF MEAT INCREASED BY 5.8% Y-O-Y, OF MILK – DECREASED BY 6.3%

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which Georgia’s meat production in the 3rd quarter totaled to 16,400 t, increasing by 5.8% year-on-year.

    Milk production totaled to 165 million l, decreasing by 6.3%.


    IN Q3, GEORGIA’S EXPORT OF CATTLE INCREASED 2.4 TIMES Y-O-Y, WHILE IMPORT DECREASED 4 TIMES

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which Georgia’s export of cattle in the 3rd quarter made up 48,700 heads. If compared with the same period of 2021, the number has increased 2.4 times.


    IN Q3, GEORGIAN SLAUGHTERHOUSES INCREASED MEAT PRODUCTION BY 38% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which Georgian slaughterhouses produced 13,200 t of meat in the 3rd quarter. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 38%.


    IN Q3, VOLUME OF PRODUCTION, STORED IN GEORGIAN REFRIGERATING FACILITIES, INCREASED BY 50.5% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which 93,600 t of production was stored in Georgian refrigerating facilities in the 3rd quarter. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 50.5%.


    IN Q3, VOLUME OF PRODUCTION, STORED IN GEORGIAN ELEVATORS, INCREASED BY 47% Y-O-Y

    Sakstat released estimation, according to which 156,300 t of production was stored in Georgian elevators in the 3rd quarter. If compared with the same period of 2021, the volume has increased by 47%.
