    NBG SOLD $25.4M OUT OF $40M BROUGHT ON AUCTION

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared that it brought $40 million for currency auction today. Out of this sum, $25.4 million was sold.


    TBILISI VICE-MAYOR: AS A RESULT OF MONITORING ON LANDSLIDE SLOPE ABOVE MACHAVARIANI STREET, RISKS HAVE BEEN REDUCED

    Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi Irakli Bendeliani assures that as a result of monitoring on the landslide slope above Machavariani Street, risks have been reduced.

    Bendeliani explained that in recent weeks, land mass was removed, reducing body of landslide, and cementation was carried out through drilled wells.


    REHABILITATION OF ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE, DAMAGED BY DISASTER, IS BEING CARRIED OUT IN RACHA

    Rehabilitation of road infrastructure, damaged by bad weather in July 2020, is being held in Racha region, reported Georgian Roads Department.

    The Department pointed that the works with a total cost of 35 million lari are financed from the state budget.

    TWO MORE LOW-COST AIRLINES TO ENTER GEORGIAN MARKET

    Kazakhstan’s low-coster FlyArystan begins operating on the Georgian market, reported Georgian Airports Association. From May, the air company will conduct regular flights to Kutaisi airport from 3 cities -Aktau, Atyrau and Nur-Sultan.


    IN 2020, 5 COMPANIES ACCOUNTED FOR 95.9% OF LIFE INSURANCE PREMIUM

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium, attracted by Georgian insurers in 2020 in life insurance (25.3 million lari), 5 companies accounted for 95.9%, or 48.3 million lari. In comparison with 2019, the top five has changed.


    IN 2020, 5 COMPANIES ACCOUNTED FOR 78.6% OF HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUM

    Georgian State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that in total premium (267.6 million lari) attracted by Georgian insurers in medical (health) insurance in 2020, 5 companies accounted for 78.6%, or 210 million lari. If compared with 2019, composition of the top five remained the same, but there are minor changes in positions of the companies.


    LLC “MAMBO FROST” INVESTED UP TO 4M LARI IN OWN FRUIT-FREEZING ENTERPRISE

    LLC Mambo Frost invested in own fruit-freezing enterprise up to 4 million lari in total, reported Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. Out of total, over 1.5 million lari was a preferential agricultural loan.

    ECONOMY MINISTER: WE PLAN TO PUBLICIZE ALL STUDIES ON “NAMOKHVANHES” IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS

    Natia Turnava, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, declared that a meeting in connection with the NamokhvanHES project will be held this week with all interested non-governmental organizations and experts.

    “We must re-open all studies, make them a subject of discussion again, and if any improvement is needed, the company will do it too”, the Minister assured.
