    MONETARY POLICY RATE REMAINS 10%

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) declared that its Monetary Policy Committee decided today to keep the refinancing rate intact. Accordingly, the monetary policy rate makes up 10% as before.


    IN Q2, GEORGIA’S ELECTRICITY GENERATION INCREASED BY 15% Y-O-Y, DOMESTIC SUPPLY – BY 16.8%

    Sakstat reported that in the 2nd quarter, Georgia generated 3,369 GWh of electricity. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has increased by 15%.


    IN Q2, GEORGIA’S COAL EXTRACTION INCREASED 2 TIMES Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that in the 2nd quarter, Georgia extracted 38,800 t of coal. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has increased 2 times.


    IN Q2, GEORGIA’S NATURAL GAS EXTRACTION INCREASED 2 TIMES Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that in the 2nd quarter, Georgia extracted 4.3 million cubic m of natural gas. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has increased 2 times.


    IN Q2, GEORGIA’S OIL EXTRACTION INCREASED 2 TIMES Y-O-Y

    Sakstat reported that in the 2nd quarter, Georgia extracted 11,700 t of oil. If compared with the same period of 2020, the volume has increased 2 times.


    TBILISI MAYOR: WE WILL BRING ADDITIONAL 380 NEW BUSES TO THE CITY

    “We have actually completed the program of buses’ renewal-replacement, though areas still remain, where public transport does not move”, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared.

    “Therefore, we have decided to bring additional 380 new buses to the city”, the Mayor said at the city government meeting today.


    TBILISI MAYOR: PROBLEM OF FAMILIES, WHO SUFFERED FROM “CENTERPOINT”, IS SOLVED

    Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze declared problem of families, who suffered from construction company CenterPoint, has been solved.

    “We have settled the problem, which had existed for 20 years”, the Mayor stressed at the city government meeting today (the matter concerns unfinished construction).

    REGULAR FLIGHTS BETWEEN KUTAISI AND KRAKOW RESUMED

    From September 28, Hungarian low-coster Wizz Air will resume direct regular flights between Kutaisi airport and Krakow (Poland), reported Georgian Airports Association. Flights will be conducted 2 times a week.
