ACCOUNT BALANCE OF THE STATE BUDGET INCREASED IN Q1 BY ALMOST 225M LARI
Treasury Service of the Finance Ministry reported that change (accumulation) of account balance of the state budget for the 1st quarter amounted to 224.99 million lari.
As of April 1, balance of the state budget’s account in the State Treasury made up 929.14 million lari.
62.6% OF SUM, ALLOCATED IN Q1 FOR REGIONAL PROJECTS FUND, REMAINED UNSPENT
Treasury Service of the Finance Ministry reported that allocations from regional projects fund in January-March amounted to 3 million lari (single case).
However, factual spending in the reporting period made up 1.12 million lari.
NBG: OBSERVANCE OF 100% OF LIQUIDITY COVERAGE RATIO BY COMMERCIAL BANKS TO BECOME OBLIGATORY SINCE SEPTEMBER 1
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) announced about approval of methodology of calculation and observance of liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) by commercial banks within Basel III. Observance of 100% of LCR will become obligatory for commercial banks since September 1, NBG said.
REFINANCING CREDITS IN Q1 INCREASED BY 67% Y-O-Y
National Bank of Georgia reported that 13 refinancing credits of 15.16 billion lari were issued in the 1st quarter. If compared with the same period of 2016 (13 auctions of 9.8 billion lari), the volume has increased by 67%.
DEMAND FOR DEPOSIT CERTIFICATES 4.4 TIMES EXCEEDED EMISSION IN Q1
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that demand for deposit certificates in the 1st quarter had 4.4 times exceeded emission.
Namely, total demand for the reporting period made up 264.5 million lari, while total placement (3 auctions) – 60 million lari (settlement price – 58.98 million lari).
REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE MINISTRY: LANDFILLS COMPLYING WITH EUROPEAN STANDARDS WILL BE ARRANGED IN KAKHETI AND SAMEGRELO
Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure declared that regional sanitary landfills, complying with European standards, will be arranged in Kakheti and Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti regions, while existing ones is planned to shut down.
Feasibility studies within the project are already conducted with assistance of German development bank (KfW).
ECONOMY MINISTRY: SHOOTINGS OF ONE MORE MOVIE WILL BEGIN IN GEORGIA
Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared that shootings of new feature film “Negative Numbers” begin within the state program of the film industry encouragement “Make a Film in Georgia”.
The movie is Georgian-French-Italian co-production, being produced by Georgian LLC Magnet Film, the Ministry said.
