The President of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze met the member of the Board of Directors of the Fund Eurasia, the rector of the Michigan University Peter Macferson, the regional director of the Fund Lorence Aivazyan and the regional Director of the USAID Michael Farbman. The visit of the representatives of the firm aims at the discussion of the investment possibilities in Georgia.

According to the press-service of the Department on State Border Protection of Georgia, on August 19 at 3 p.m. 2 military planes entered Georgian territory from the side of Dagestan (from the east). After flying over the village Omalo 2 times in 5 minutes, they disappeared to the direction of Chechnia.

During his meeting with his Russian counterpart Igor Sergeev in Moscow, the Defense Minister of Georgia, Lieutenant-General David Tevzadze, will discuss the questions on the co-operation of the 2 countries in the military sphere, including the presence of the Russian military bases on the territory Georgia.
On August 24 David Tevzadze is going on an official visit to China.
