GEORGIA BECAME CHAIR COUNTRY OF OPEN GOVERNANCE PARTNERSHIP

Georgia, for the first time, became the chairing country of Open Governance Partnership (OGP), the organization uniting 75 countries, Georgian government reported.

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili accepted the one-year presidency of the organization from French President Emmanuel Macron.




IRAKLI MEKVABISHVILI APPROVED AS AUDITOR GENERAL

The Parliament approved Irakli Mekvabishvili as head of State Audit Service. According to voting results, his candidacy was supported by 80 MPs.

AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: OUTPUT OF PRIMARY AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS IN 6 MONTHS INCREASED BY 7% Y-O-Y, PROCESSED PRODUCTION – BY 9%

Agriculture Ministry reported that output of primary agricultural production amounted for January-June to 1.9 billion lari, increasing by 7% year-on-year.

Referring to Sakstat, the Ministry specified that cattle breeding accounts for biggest share in total output.




AGRICULTURE MINISTRY: TOTAL COST OF EXPORTED PEACHES MADE UP $4.2M

Agriculture Ministry reported that current season of peach harvesting is completed, resulting in export totaling to $4.2 million. If compared with 2016, the volume has increased by 50%.




ENERGY MINISTRY: AIR OVERPASS ON THE SECTION OF NORTH-SOUTH GAS PIPELINE IS BUILT

Energy Ministry declared about completion of construction of air overpass across river Kuroskhevi on section of North-South gas pipeline in Kazbegi municipality (Mtskheta-Mtianeti region).

Cost of the project makes up 1.42 million lari, the Ministry said.




3 KINDERGARTENS IN RUSTAVI EQUIPPED WITH ENERGY EFFECTIVE TECHNOLOGIES

City Hall of Rustavi declared that 3 kindergartens of the city were equipped with energy effective technologies with joint funding of the EU and municipality.

Cost of the project totals to 808,765 EUR, of which the EU allocated 646,527 EUR, while Rustavi City Hall – 162,238 EUR.

“ANAKLIA CITY” TO SIGN COOPERATION MEMORANDUM WITH INCHEON FREE ECONOMIC ZONE

Anaklia City declared about forthcoming signing of cooperation memorandum with free economic zone of Incheon. Director of the company, Keti Bochorishvili, will sign the document within her visit to South Korea (on September 20-23).




AS OF JUNE 30, LIABILITY INSURANCE PREMIUM REDUCED BY 34.6% Y-O-Y

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in liability insurance as of June 30, amounted to 9.64 million lari, decreasing by 34.6% year-on-year. This segment accounts for 3.9% of total insurance premium for the period.




AS OF JUNE 30, OBLIGATIONS FULFILLMENT INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 29.2% Y-O-Y

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in insurance of obligations fulfillment (bank guarantee) as of June 30, amounted to 3.7 million lari, increasing by 29.2% year-on-year. This segment accounts for 1.5% of total insurance premium for the period.




AS OF JUNE 30, FINANCIAL LOSS INSURANCE PREMIUM INCREASED BY 23.7% Y-O-Y

State Service for Insurance Supervision reported that premium, attracted in insurance of financial loss as of June 30, amounted to 1.55 million lari, increasing by 23.7% year-on-year. This segment accounts for 0.6% of total insurance premium for the period.
