    ADVISER TO PRIME MINISTER TO COMBINE FUNCTION OF HIS PRESS SPEAKER

    Irakli Chikovani, adviser to Georgian Prime Minister in international issues, will execute also functions of the Premier’s press speaker, Georgian government reported.

    The Premier Giorgi Gakharia pointed at the government meeting today that “this is a new position”, which “will promote establishment of quick, effective communication between administration, citizens and media”.

    ISET DECREASED FORECAST OF GEORGIAN GDP GROWTH IN Q4

    International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET) has revised its forecast of Georgia’s GDP real growth in the 4th quarter. The updated forecast makes up 4.4%, against of September forecast of 5.5%.


    PRIME MINISTER URGES NBG TO ACT FOR ENSURING STABILITY OF PRICES AND LIMIT RATES OF INFLATION

    “We have to work all together, coordinated, together with National Bank, in order to ensure economic growth, as well as limit rates of inflation, which we had at the beginning of the year, and stability of prices”, Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia declared.

    Gakharia said the mentioned at the government meeting today and noted: “We will take all necessary steps from the side of the government, but I also urge National Bank to take those steps, which are within its competence”.


    THE PARLIAMENT CONSIDERS THE BILL “ON INTRODUCTION OF ANTI-DUMPING MEASURES IN TRADE”

    Georgian Parliament considers the bill “On Introduction of Anti-Dumping Measures in Trade”, which has to enter in force since January 1, 2020 (except one article).

    The bill envisages creation next year of new structural unit in the Competition Agency – anti-dumping department, where there will be about 12 employees.


    THE PARLIAMENT CONSIDERS BILL ON DERIVATIVES

    Georgian Parliament considers the bill “On Financial Pledge, Mutual Deduction and Derivatives”. The bill should enter in force upon publication.


    DEPUTY FINANCE MINISTER: 463.7M LARI ARE DIRECTED TO FINANCING OF PUBLIC AND PRIVATE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOLS

    Georgia’s Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze reported that 463.7 million lari were directed to financing of more than 2,000 public and over 200 private comprehensive schools countrywide.

    Kakauridze declared this today, while reporting on 9-month fulfillment of the state budget at the joint meeting of the Parliament’s Committee of Education, Science and Culture and Committee of Youth Affairs and Sport.


    MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURE: THIS YEAR, CITRUS HARVEST HAS HIGH QUALITY

    Georgia’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili said that citrus harvesting in the country has entered its active phase. “This year, citrus harvest has high quality”, he declared.


    REHABILITATION OF ROAD TO NAPETVREBI VILLAGE IS COMPLETED

    Georgian Roads Department reported about completion of rehabilitation of road of local importance in Mtskheta municipality, leading to the village Napetvrebi.

    According to the Department, the project worth 2.49 million lari is financed from the state budget.
