    HEAD OF AJARA GOVERNMENT: WE ARE GOING TO STRENGTHEN CLINICAL DIRECTION EVEN MORE

    “We are going to strengthen clinical direction even more”, declared head of Ajara government Tornike Rizhvadze at the meeting in connection with COVID-19 today. Currently, 8 clinics are included in virus management in Ajara, he noted.

    “TI GEORGIA”: AS OF JUNE 30, DEBT OF THE GOVERNMENT MADE UP ABOUT 49% OF GDP FOR THE LAST YEAR

    TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, prepared review of 6-month results of execution of Georgia’s state budget-2020, which indicates that debt of the government as of June 30 made up 24.1 billion lari, or 49% of GDP for the last year.

    As of December 31, 2019, debt of the government made up 20.6 billion lari, or 41.3% of last year’s GDP.


    “TI GEORGIA”: AS OF 6 MONTHS, FACTUAL DEFICIT OF GEORGIA’S STATE BUDGET MAKES UP 2.3B LARI

    Deficit of Georgia’s state budget was planned for 6 months of 2020 at the level of 924 million lari, while revised because of COVID-19 plan envisages growth of the volume up to 2.06 billion lari (i.e. 2.2 times), specifies TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International.

    At that, factual 6-month deficit of the budget amounted to 2.3 billion lari (by 12% more that the revised plan envisaged), the organization notes.


    “TI GEORGIA”: SUM, ALLOCATED FOR UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE PROGRAM, APPEARED INSUFFICIENT AGAIN

    Sum, allocated for 6-month implementation of the country’s universal healthcare program, appeared insufficient again, the same way as in the previous year, notes TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International.

    In particular, initial plan was increased by 89 million and made up 523 million lari (respectively, growth makes up 20.5%), the organization specifies.


    “TI GEORGIA”: IN GEORGIA, DATABASE OF STATE PROCUREMENTS IS STILL INACCESSIBLE IN PROCESSABLE FORMAT

    TI Georgia, Georgian branch of Transparency International, points that the country’s database of state procurements is still inaccessible in processable format.

    Even after 10 years since public procurement system was digitized, interested parties have no simple and direct access to summarized data on purchases, the organization specifies.

    TBILISI SUBWAY WORKS UNTIL 24:00 AGAIN

    Since today, Tbilisi subway returns to standard operating mode, Tbilisi Transport Company reported. That means that subway transports passengers from 06:00 until 24:00.
