    DEMOCRACY RESEARCH INSTITUTE: UPON DISPERSAL OF PEACEFUL ACTION, AUTHORITY USED DISPROPORTIONATE FORCE ONCE AGAIN

    Georgian non-governmental organization Democracy Research Institute (DRI) declared that force, used by authorities for dispersal of peaceful action in front of Georgian Parliament at dawn on November 26, was not proportional.

    DRI specified that statement, released by the Interior Ministry, testifies that the good, for which protection riot police was used, was release of legislature’s entrances from protesters, who blocked them.

    NBG SOLD $20M

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported about selling of $20 million at currency auction today. Average weighted exchange rate made up 2.9699 GEL/USD, NBG said.


    IN Q2, PORTFOLIO INVESTMENTS SHARPLY GREW

    National Bank of Georgia reported that portfolio investments, made in Georgia in the 2nd quarter, amounted to $571 million. In relation to GDP of the country, this indicator makes up 14.2%.


    IN Q3, BOTH CATTLE POPULATION AND MEAT PRODUCTION DECREASED

    Sakstat published estimation, according to which 14,500 t of meat was produced in Georgia in the 3rd quarter, decreasing by 3.3% year-on-year.

    At that, cattle population in the country made up at the end of the reporting quarter 901,200 heads, decreasing by 2.1% year-on-year.


    IN Q3, 23.5% OF SLAUGHTERS WERE LOCATED IN KVEMO KARTLI, 15.3% – IN KAKHETI, PER 12.2% – IN IMERETI AND SHIDA KARTLI

    Sakstat reported that in the 3rd quarter, there were 98 slaughterhouses, operating in Georgia.

    At that, 23.5% of the slaughters were located in Kvemo Kartli region.


    IN Q3, 47.7% OF COLD STORAGES WERE LOCATED IN SHIDA KARTLI, 14% – IN KVEMO KARTLI

    Sakstat reported that in the 3rd quarter, there were 86 cold storages, operating in Georgia.

    At that, almost half of these facilities (47.7%) were located in Shida Kartli region.


    IN Q3, 39.1% OF ELEVATORS WERE LOCATED IN KVEMO KARTLI, 26.1% – IN SHIDA KARTLI

    Sakstat reported that in the 3rd quarter, there were 23 elevators, operating in Georgia.

    Major part of these facilities was located in Kvemo Kartli (39.1%) and Shida Kartli (26.1%) regions.

    AS OF SEPTEMBER, YIELD OF GEORGIAN GOVERNMENT’S 10-YEAR BONDS MADE UP 3%

    Referring to Bloomberg, National Bank of Georgia reports that as of September, yield rate of 10-year bonds, placed by Georgian government on London Stock Exchange, made up 3%.

    To compare, as of January, the rate made up 4.2%, as of March – 4%, June – 3.5%.


    AS OF SEPTEMBER, PRICE PER SHARE OF “TBC BANK GROUP” MADE UP 12.5 GBP, OF “BOG GROUP” – 13.3 GBP

    Referring to Bloomberg, National Bank of Georgia reports that as of September, price per share of TBC Bank Group on London Stock Exchange made up 12.5 GBP.

    To compare, as of January, the price made up 14.7 GBP, as of March – 15.6 GBP, June – 16.2 GBP.

    “TI GEORGIA”: COMPANY OF THE FAMILY OF BATUMI SAKREBULO MEMBER UNCOMPETITIVELY WINS TENDERS OF BATUMI CITY HALL

    On November 21, tender commission of Batumi City Hall decided that this year, New Year’s lighting in Batumi will be provided by LLC Acharganateba again, TI Georgia (Georgian branch of Transparency International) reported, specifying that the company received for that end 428,423 lari from the city budget.

    TI Georgia pointed that conditions of the tender were made in such a way that they could be met by this company only.
