    REPRESENTATIVES OF THE MINISTRY DIDN’T APPEAR IN THE PARLIAMENT AT DISCUSSION OF ANAKLIA PORT ISSUES

    Today, Georgian Parliament held discussion of issues of Anaklia deep-water port, initiated by independent MPs (Levan Koberidze, Levan Gogichaishvili, Gedevan Popkhadze and Koba Narchemashvili).

    According to the Parliament, invitation to take part in the discussion was sent to the project implementer Anaklia Development Consortium and the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, however representative of the latter did not appear.

    “GEORGIAN LEASING COMPANY”: IN 2012-2018, GEORGIAN LEASING SECTOR GREW ON AVERAGE BY 26.1% Y-O-Y

    In 2012-2018, compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of Georgian leasing sector made up 26.1%, Georgian Leasing Company reported.

    In 2018, corporate portfolio of leading Georgian leasing companies totaled to $132.1 million, increasing by 46.5% year-on-year, the company said.


    NBG ISSUED COLLECTABLE COIN IN COMMEMORATION OF THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF GEORGIA’S MEMBERSHIP IN COUNCIL OF EUROPE

    National Bank of Georgia (NBG) issued collectable coin, dedicated to 70th anniversary of Council of Europe establishment and 20th anniversary of Georgia’s membership in this organization, celebrated this year.

    The silver coin with face value of 5 lari was made by Lithuanian Mint.

    “FITCH RATINGS” AFFIRMED RATING OF “GEORGIAN LEASING COMPANY”

    Fitch Ratings declared about affirmation of rating of Georgian Leasing Company (financial leasing) at the level of “B+” with “stable” outlook.

    At the same time, the agency reported withdrawal of the rating “for commercial reasons”.


    MICROFINANCIAL ORGANIZATION “CRYSTAL” TO GET 4.1M EUR FROM EIB

    Georgian microfinancial organization Crystal will receive 4.1 million EUR from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the EU representation in Georgia reported.

    As the representation noted, funds will be allocated for financing of those microenterprises, where number of occupied does not exceed 10 people.


    DUTCH “ROYAL SWINKELS” ACQUIRED 40% IN GEORGIAN “ARGO”

    Dutch beer producer Royal Swinkels Family Brewers acquired 40% in Georgian brewery Argo, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. The companies signed the agreement today.


    GEORGIAN LEATHER PRODUCTION IS EXPORTED TO KUWAIT

    Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry’s Agency Produce in Georgia reported that Georgian company Gepherrini (leather accessories) has exported its production to Kuwait. Gepherrini signed the respective agreement with Kuwaiti A&M Company.

    PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF PARKING RULES INCREASES UP TO 50 LARI

    Tbilisi City Hall raises penalty for violation of parking rules in the city up to 50 lari. Until now, the penalty made up 10 lari.
