EMERGENCY REPAIRS ON GAS PIPELINE STARTED IN KAZBEGI

Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation informs that its subsidiary Gas Transportation Company has launched emergency repairs on gas pipeline in Kazbegi district (Mtskheta-Mtianeti region). Zurab Janjgava, the Corporation director general, said that matter concerns section, which was damaged by snow-slide in spring.

According to annual report of JSC Tbilgvino (Tbilisi Wine), shareholders meeting, held in August 2007, decided to distribute net profit of 2006 (366,191 lari) among the company’s shareholders: Giorgi Margvelashvili (50%) and Zurab Margvelashvili (50%). Accordingly, each of them got 183,095 lari.

Director general of Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation Zurab Janjgava and director of Georgian Gas Transportation Company Grigol Natroshvili visited today rehabilitation works, which are held on Kesalo-Marneuli-Dmanisi-Tsalka section of main gas pipeline in Marneuli district (Kvemo Kartli region). Georgian Gas Transportation Company replaces the damaged parts of the section, which makes up 20 km in length.
EBRD TO INVEST 500,000 EUR IN BASISBANK MODERNIZATION

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will invest 500,000 EUR in establishment of new organizational structure and institutional changes in Basisbank, Zurab Tsikhistavi, Georgian bank director general, has said at the briefing today. According to Tsikhistavi, implementation of 3-year plan, worked out jointly with EBRD, scopes offering of new products, updating of risk-management, consultations of foreign experts.

Abalaki said that the decrease was caused by fruit export implementation to Ukraine only in 2007, while it was implemented to Russia (via Tskhinvali) as well in 2006.

Fiscal Committee of the Parliament supported today in the 1st hearing amendments to law “On Electric Energy and Natural Gas”, despite disagreement of some deputies. The amendments permit owners of new-built electric stations to set price for the generated electric energy (upon agreement with the Georgian government and Energy System Commercial Operator), instead of the regulating commission.
