    Sachino, the anti-corruption association, has applied the Financial Minister and the circuit prosecutor’s office in western Georgia asking them to bring to account Nugzar Dzotsenidze, the head of taxpayers’ division of Kutaisi tax inspection.

    The case is about the illegal charging of the 12% profit tax while alienation of the property, which was implemented by Nugzar Dzotsenidze during the whole last year, Zurab Khurtsidze, the executive director of Sachino, explained.

    Increasing earnings and the performance of the budget 2005 is evidence of a “right economic and fiscal policy”, Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli said at a news briefing in the Finance Ministry today, where the last year’s performance was summarized and prospects were outlined.

    According to preliminary data, economic growth amounted to 8-8.5%, while the inflation was kept at 6.2%, the Prime Minister says.
