    The government has approved today the decision to disburse 115,000 lari to 23 households, whose houses have been destroyed by recent rainfalls and landslides. The Ministry of Refugees Affairs and Settlement will distribute the funds, says Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli.

  10. JSC TBILSRES TO SELL 1.42B KW OF ELECTRICITY A YEAR TO WHOLESALE MARKET OF ENERGY

    Under the decision of the Georgian National Energy Regulation Commission (GNERC), JSC TbilSRES is to sell 1.42 billion kW of power to the wholesale market of electricity in a year.

    GNERC has set the price of 5.461 tetri per kW of electricity supplied by JSC TbilSRES, while Georgian wholesale market of energy will pay the latter 603,950 lari.

    According to the Financial Police, 250 cases of cigarettes (mainly Russian), having no excise stamps, have been destroyed in Gori. The cigarettes have been seized for the past five months.

    The draft Customs Code has been considered today at a meeting of Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli and Finance Minister Aleksi Aleksishvili with representatives of the Federation of Businessmen and the American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia.

  20. JSC TELASI TO ACQUIRE ELECTRICITY FROM GENERATORS DIRECTLY

    JSC TELASI will buy electricity directly from power generators under an agreement reached as part of the visit of Andrei Rappoport, the vice chairman of the board of RAO EES Rossii, to Tbilisi today.

    Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli made the announcement after his meeting with Rappoport today.
