Italy’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Productive Activities, Adolfo Urso has said at an opening ceremony of the second business forum of Italy and Georgia today, Italian businessmen are interested in Georgia’s agriculture, food industry, timber processing and tourism sectors. Giorgi Isakadze, the executive director of the Federation of Businessmen, says Georgian businessmen will host Italian businessmen interested in setting up joint enterprises as part of the Italian and Georgian Economic Partnership Program.
GEORGIA HOPES FOR KAZAKH GAS SUPPLIES AND OIL TRANSIT

The Georgian and Kazakh parties have agreed to close by November 1 a 10-year deal on the gas supplies from Kazakhstan to Georgia, 2 billion cubic meters a year, states the protocol of the first meeting of the intergovernmental commission of Georgia and Kazakhstan on trade and economic cooperation. The protocol was signed in Tbilisi today by Kazakhstan’s Transport and Communications Minister Askar Mamin and Georgia’s Economic Development Minister Irakli Chogovadze.

As Igel said after the meeting, $160 million would be invested in Georgia over 5 years.

Apart from $295.3 million, the US has disbursed to Georgia under the Millennium Challenge program the Georgian government hopes to receive up to $600 million in loan from international financial institutions.
