6. GDP GROWTH MADE UP 11.4%

   In the first quarter, the country GDP growth rate reached its expected level and made up 11.4%, Zurab Nogaideli, the Prime Minister said at the government meeting today.

   Nogaideli said today at the briefing, where the resultsof 3-day visit of John Danilovich, MCC executive director, were considered, that additional $50 million was attracted from different donors for gas-main pipeline rehabilitation, which was initially funded by MCC with $40 million.

    BTA Silk Road Bank has increased its capital by 18 million lari through emission of 18 million ordinary shares, Giorgi Chiladze, director general, has told to journalists today. Bank capital volume is defined by 31 million lari presently.

14. PARAVANHES CONSTRUCTION TO LAUNCH IN A YEAR

    Memorandum on ParavanHES (Samtskhe-Javakheti region) construction has been signed today by Zurab Nogaideli, prime minister of Georgia, and Ergun Atabei, chairman of supervision board of Georgian Urban Invest.The company plans to invest about $100-120 million in the project.

    As Ergun Atabei declared, constructing project should be prepared in a year, while construction works should be completed in 48 months.
