   Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze declared that gas storage is planned to build in Georgia in 2018-2019 and Azerbaijan’s state oil and gas company SOCAR shows big interest in this term.

   Energy expert Zurab Garakanidze says that this issue was topical even in 1990-ies, and now it is already the third try.

   Zurab Kirtava, former chief of designing department at Kutaisi car plant, thinks that it will be better to start car manufacturing in Kutaisi again.

   “Old buildings of plant, built in 1950-ies, are amortized, but two huge shops, built in 80-ies in compliance with that time standards, should be still valuable for potential investor, as these buildings were calculated for 100-year period”, Kirtava says.

3. LLC “GREENPACK” TO ENHANCE PRODUCTION CAPACITIES THROUGH “PRODUCE IN GEORGIA” PROGRAM

   Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry reported that LLC Greenpack will enhance own production capacity with support of “Produce in Georgia” state program. Investments within the project should total to $2.5 million.

4. OPPOSITION MP: LARI RATE IS CLOSE TO ALARMING EDGE

   Zurab Melikishvili, MP from United National Movement, declared that national currency is depreciating and is already very close to “alarming edge” (exchange rate, defined by National Bank of Georgia for tomorrow – 2.4445 GEL/USD).

   “The government’s superficial attitude, first of all, is expressed in shrinking of economy and deprecation of lari”, oppositional MP pointed.

5. Eugeorgia.Info: “CHICKEN AND EGG PRODUCTION IS IN DISCRIMINATORY CONDITIONS”

   “As we had to pay VAT for chicken, we were not able to compete with imported production anymore and had shut down the production”, founder of company Kumisi Zurab Uchumbegashvili declares.

   Kumisi has stopped chicken production since 2012, when amendments to Tax Code were enacted, envisaging imposition of VAT (18%), and now the factory is engaged in egg production only.

   Oppositional United National Movement’s secretary for relations with civil society, former minister of healthcare Zurab Chiaberashvili asserts that Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection Ministry continues cancellation of social allowances to single pensioners.

   Chiaberashvili said that “from January 2013 through June 2015, Healthcare Ministry canceled allowances to 30,000 pensioners, more than half of whom are single and live in extreme poverty”.

    Plenum of Constitutional Court has accepted today for administrative hearing a lawsuit on Financial Supervision Agency. The claim against the Parliament was submitted by group of MPs (Zurab Abashidze, Giorgi Baramidze, David Bakradze and others, 39 MPs in total).
