CIVIL ORGANIZATIONS: LEGISLATIVE AMENDMENTS MEAN WITHDRAWAL OF “PUBLIC BROADCASTER” FROM BROAD SPHERE OF PUBLIC LEGISLATION

Several non-governmental organizations declared that the Parliament-initiated draft bill, which amends law “On Broadcasting”, “means withdrawal of activity of Public Broadcaster from broad sphere of regulation by public legislation”.

The amendments will lead to “deterioration of accountability standard of Broadcaster, weakening of guarantees of accessibility of information, stored in Broadcaster, and of transparent implementation of the state procurements”, the organizations pointed.

TBILISI TO HOST GEORGIAN-GREEK BUSINESS FORUM UNTIL END OF THE YEAR

Georgian-Greek business forum will be held in Tbilisi until end of the year, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development declared.

Issues of economic cooperation of two countries were discussed at the meeting of Georgia’s Deputy Economy Minister Gennady Arveladze and Greek Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs Georgios Katrougalos, which took place within the 14^th international conference “Georgia’s European Way” in Batumi.




THE STATE PROGRAM ON LABOR MARKET ANALYSIS AND INTRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS IS APPROVED

The government approved the state program on labor market analysis and introduction and development of respective information system. Budget of the program makes up 524,000 lari.




6-MONTH IMPORT OF LIQUEFIED GAS INCREASED BY 31.8% Y-O-Y

Oil-Products Importers Union declared that Georgia’s import of propane-butane liquefied mixture (LPG) in January-June made up 7,000 t. If compared with same period of 2016, the volume has increased by 31.8%, the Union pointed.




CENTER OF VISITORS OPENED IN PROTECTED AREAS OF KOBULETI AND KINTRISHI

Ajara government reported that center of visitors was opened today in protected areas of Kobuleti and Kintrishi. According to the government, 1.4 million lari were invested in construction and equipment of the building.




GEORGIA’S EXPORT OF MUTTON INCREASED

Georgian National Food Agency reported that over 93,000 carcasses of sheep were exported from Georgia in the current year. That quantity 10 times exceeds showing of the same period of 2016, the Agency noted.




NATIONAL SYSTEM OF ANIMALS REGISTRATION DISCUSSED IN KAKHETI

On July 10-14, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) together with Georgian National Food Agency held in Kakheti region information meetings on National Animal Identification and Traceability System (NAITS) scheme, representation of FAO reported.

As the representation noted, action plan of new, improved system of animals’ identification and registration was considered at the meetings.

INTERNATIONAL TENDER ON UNDERGROUND GAS STORAGE CONSTRUCTION IS ANNOUNCED

For construction of underground gas storage, Georgian Oil And Gas Corporation announced open international tender on procurement of EPIC service (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning).

Procurement will be conducted according to terms of international financial institutions, which partially finance the project of underground gas storage.




“ENERGOPRO GEORGIA” COMPLETED INSTALLATION OF INDIVIDUAL METERS IN AJARA

In village Rakvti of Khulo municipality, process of individual electric meters’ installation across the whole Ajara has come to the end, JSC EnergoPro Georgia (the regional power distributor) declared.

As the company noted, investments of 37.45 million lari were made in the project of meters’ installation in Ajara.
