AS OF JUNE 30, RATIO OF DEPOSITS TO GDP INCREASED IN GEORGIA BY 6.5 PP Y-O-Y, OF LOANS – BY 5 PP
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that as of June 30, ratio of deposits, placed in Georgian commercial banks, to the country’s GDP made up 64.7%.
If compared with the end of the 1st quarter (72.9%), the indicator has decreased by 8.2 percentage points (pp).
AS OF JUNE 30, TOTAL ASSETS OF GEORGIAN BANKS INCREASED BY 13.6% Y-O-Y, TOTAL LIABILITIES – BY 11.5%
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that assets of 15 commercial banks, operating in the country, totaled as of June 30 to 55.98 billion lari. The volume has decreased by 3.7% quarter-on-quarter, but increased by 13.6% year-on-year.
AS OF JUNE 30, NUMBER OF COMMERCIAL BANKS’ BRANCHES DECREASED BY 8 Y-O-Y, OF SERVICE CENTERS – BY 16
National Bank of Georgia (NBG) reported that as of June 30, Georgian banks have run 154 branches in the country. The number has decreased by 6 quarter-on-quarter and by 8 year-on-year.
IN Q2, RPPI INCREASED BY 10.1% Y-O-Y
Sakstat reported that in the 2nd quarter, residential property price index (RPPI) decreased by 0.4%, if compared with the 1st quarter. If compared with the 2nd quarter of 2020, the index has increased by 10.1%.
AJARA HOSTED GEORGIAN-POLISH BUSINESS FORUM
On July 26, a Georgian-Polish business forum was held in Batumi. As Ajara government reported, participants of the forum discussed investment potential of the autonomous republic, ongoing and planned projects.
UNESCO INCLUDED 4 GEORGIAN PROTECTED TERRITORIES IN THE WORLD HERITAGE LIST
Georgia’s 4 protected territories are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, reported Georgian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. These are national parks of Kolkheti and Mtirala and protected areas of Kintrishi and Kobuleti.
IN AUGUST, ZONAL-HOURLY PARKING TO EXPAND TO SEVERAL MORE DISTRICTS OF TBILISI
Tbilisi City Hall announced that from August 1, zonal-hourly parking system will be enacted in the districts of Saburtalo, Gldani, Samgori and on the territory near the Station Square.
There will be 748 places parking allocated in Saburtalo district and 286 places – on the territory nearby to the Station Square.
