    Zurab Azarashvili, Georgia’s Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection, declared that in total over 18 million lari was spent during Ukrainian refugees’ stay in the country’s hotels. Most part of the expenses was covered by Tbilisi City Hall, National Tourism Agency and Ajara government, he noted.

    Zurab Azarashvili, Georgia’s Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection, declared that clinics in the country will be given the opportunity to choose one of 2-3 standards of international accreditation, which they will have to meet from 2025. Only after the standard is met, clinics will be allowed to operate, he said, noting that several clinics have already passed such accreditation on their own initiative.

    While speaking in the Georgian Parliament today, Zurab Azarashvili, Georgia’s Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection declared that out-of-pocket healthcare payments of the population have decreased in Georgia from 73.4% in 2021 to 43.5% in 2021.

    Azarashvili indicated that as of today, 94.7% of the country’s population is included in the universal healthcare program.

    Revaz Vashakidze, founder of the company Chirina (the largest importer of sunflower oil to Georgia), says that there is already a shortage on the market, “perhaps, the consumer does not feel it yet, but raw materials for production are a serious problem”.

    Georgian Ministry of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Healthcare and Social Protection announced that up to 45 types of medicines, imported from Turkey, are available for purchase in 3 local pharmacy chains: Pharmadepo, Aversi and PSP.

    The Ministry noted that as a result of opening of the Georgia’s pharmaceutical market for Turkey, prices of medicines, imported from this country, decreased by 60-80% on average.
